I do one project at a time and one project only.
You know why?
Because I’ve noticed a pattern: When I work on several different things at once, NOTHING great comes out of it.
They all turn into absolute failures.
It is only when I focus 100% on one thing at a time that I succeed wildly.
A lot of people pretend they can do a lot of things at one time.
We call this “multi-tasking”.
Multi-tasking is for bullshit artists.
People who pretend they’re doing a bunch of things, but in reality they aren’t accomplishing ANYTHING other than simply spinning their wheels.
Pop quiz: Why did Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Michael Dell, and Ted Turner ALL drop out of college?
Answer: Because it’s literally impossible to work on two things at one time and do them BOTH really well.
Getting good grades in a top tier university is hard.
Growing a mega-business is damn hard.
You won’t do them BOTH at the EXACT SAME TIME.
So you pick one thing and you stick to it.
And you put 100% effort into that one thing.
When that one thing is finally accomplished… then you can move on to a completely different thing.
But you only move on when that one thing is accomplished.
I’m astonished by the number of would-be blog writers who email me for advice when the answer to their problem is so damn clear: they simply lack focus.
Let me spell it out for you: Focus on one damn thing until that ONE DAMN THING is freaking accomplished.
Blog writers constantly change the name of their blogs, change the focus of their blog, write multiple blogs and all kinds of stupid multi-tasking shit that gets them right back to where they originally started.
The no multi-tasking rule is NOT just for blog writers, it is for ANYONE who demands success in their field.
Until next time.
