I have a confession to make. I don’t set goals.
We have all been taught to set goals.
I used to be a goal setter.
But I noticed SOMETHING that you MIGHT can relate to.
When you reach a goal, you often felt empty inside, don’t you?
Rather than feel elated or fulfilled, you feel anxious, asking yourself:
“Is this all that there is to life?”
Setting goals is setting yourself up for ultimate failure.
Goals often put your conscious and unconscious minds at war with one another.
To reach your goals, you may become SOMEONE whom you do not WANT to actually be.
You may have to pander and prostitute yourself out.
You may have to sell your soul for only 30 pieces of silver.
Call me a daydreamer, but a year or so ago, I started visualizing my perfect day.
When you visualize The Perfect Day, your conscious and unconscious minds align.
This is The Perfect Day
I wake up excited.
I want to see what has happened overnight.
I like my readers.
They don’t post negative or stupid comments.
Their comments edify me and each other.
I learn something NEW from them each day.
I get in the moment and write for 2-4 hours about literally WHATEVER I want to write about.
I don’t sell out for page views.
I post off the wall stuff, too, even if it may alienate some readers.
I raise some hell basically WHEREVER I go.
I enjoy inflicting pain on the unrighteous.
When some tech or design issue comes up, it annoys me but I recognize that tech and design are part of managing a site, so I embrace the suck for the greater good.
Reader questions and comments pour in.
I file away comments to answer during NEW posts which I write about.
I genuinely want to help people who reach out, because as noted above, part of The Perfect Day is liking my readers.
I update old posts that have become popular in the search engines, cross-linking older posts to newer posts – creating a spider web that will entangle anyone NEW to Frauds and Liars.
I learn about NEW things every day such as reducing bounce rates, CDN, and A/B testing.
Reader emails and comments keep coming in.
I go to bed spent, but NOT demoralized or dejected.
I fall asleep knowing that tomorrow will be another day full of opportunity and enrichment.
Until next time.
Your man,
-Elijah “The Realist”
