Take a moment and think back to the worse breakup you have ever had.
The one where you got dumped so fast and dropped so hard you were in a state of shock for weeks.
Close your eyes for a minute and remember EXACTLY how you felt.
Terrible feeling right?
Now, take a moment and think back to the greatest success you have ever had.
The one where you felt on top of the world, unstoppable and unshakeable.
Close your eyes for a minute and remember how you felt.
Incredible feeling right?
The contrast is deep, real and a reminder to the power of success being the #1 best revenge.
My drive for success started after my first initial breakup where I got dumped, found out my girlfriend at the time was banging some of my ‘guy friends’ (although I was banging her best friend on the side) and to say I was pissed is the #1 understatement of the year.
In the midst of that turbulent breakup though, I had a moment of clarity: Success would be my #1 BEST revenge.
I was still in college and had my entire life ahead of me, and while I was already driven, this was the final straw to break the back of complacency and maintaining status quo.
My drive for something more, for a better life and for new enriching experiences drove me like a madman.
My productivity kicked up times a 100 percent and no longer would I be bogged down by negative people.
Then I ‘failed’.
Then I ‘failed’ again.
Then I really ‘failed’ yet again.
But after every fall, I pulled myself up out of the gutter of failure, brushed my disappointments off and put one foot in front of the other continuing down the elusive road of success.
My past would not determine my future. Period.
In order to REALLY get true success one has to do a myriad of things, but three aspects have stood out to me:
1. You Must Let Go Of Your Past In Order To Claim Your Future
2. Your Mistakes Do Not Define You, They Refine You
3. Success Is Your Only Mother-fucking Option. Failure Is Not.
Success to many people varies.
To some it’s a private jet, a Bentley and Victoria Secret Models as your fuck buddies.
To others, it’s complete freedom from a 9-5 corporate job and the ability to travel all over the world doing whatever they want… whenever they want.
Whatever your definition of success is, remember to focus on the prize.
Don’t allow ANYTHING to get in the way.
Family, girlfriend, friends, co-workers, etc.
You are the captain of your ship and you do have the ability to be successful, but you must pour your heart, soul, mind and strength into it.
Lastly, remember that it’s okay to let your revenge drive you to become successful.
The spark of revenge can turn your success into a blazing flame.
Revenge to be better, to rub it in my enemies face and to ultimately be the best, has driven my quest for success.
After you have tasted success, a miraculous change takes place in you.
No longer is your success driven solely by revenge and in fact in your drive for success, the bitterness dissipates.
No longer is revenge your sole catalyst for success, although it may still be present, but in a smaller dose.
Take it from me.
I know failure and I know success… and the success doesn’t come until you are ready to give it your all.
There are no shortcuts.
There are no compromises.
There is no one standing in the way but yourself.
Let your revenge from past hurts, disappointments and life trials fuel your drive for success, instead of paralyze you into being frozen in a state of bitterness.
You can do it my friend, so decide TODAY that you’re letting go of your past and claiming your future.
You ready?
Let’s do it gentlemen.
